Underwriter II, Property Incoming Property Unit
About the role
The Property Underwriter II role is within the Incoming Property Unit at AXA XL in Exton, PA. Global Insurance Programs are central to AXA XL's offerings, managing over 5000 programs worldwide. This role involves quoting both new and renewal business for international customers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Quote both new and renewal business produced by overseas colleagues within established parameters.
- Ensure all business quoted complies with regulatory standards and utilize resources like the Regulatory Resource Site, actuarial pricing tool Harta, and ISO rating and forms.
- Work closely with Underwriting Assistants to provide prompt service to local brokers, issuing binders, invoices, endorsements, and certificates.
- Complete the Underwriting Summary documenting risk exposures and rationale.
- Participate in peer reviews and contribute to team performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with Middle Office to minimize pending items and with Shared Services (ESS) to answer questions and provide clear direction.
- Attend Team Calls and Bi-Weekly calls with ESS to enhance unit efficiency.
- Assess current and prospective risks with colleagues from various departments including actuarial, claims, legal, and risk engineering.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Property Underwriting, with construction experience preferred. Knowledge of ISO rating and forms is required, along with practical experience using actuarial pricing tools for non-ISO accounts.
