Uncle Tetsu Baker Assistant

The Baker Assistant at Uncle Tetsu is responsible for:

• Providing quality service to Guests
• Supporting the Baker and Person in Charge
• Performing Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) duties as directed
• Cleaning and sanitizing tasks to maintain cleanliness and appearance of the store
• Greeting and serving Guests
• Handling payment at the cash register
• Preparing drinks at the Tea Bar
• Preparing ingredients for baking, including portioning, weighing, and storing ingredients
• Packaging cakes into boxes

About the role

Uncle Tetsu is an international Asian-inspired bakery founded in 1985 by Tetsushi Mizokami. It offers over 80 locations worldwide, known for its original Japanese Cheesecakes.

Responsibilities

• Essential functions: Reliable and dependable attendance is required.
• Education and experience: Some high school education, prefer some Operations experience in Food Service.
• Food Safety: Local/municipal requirements, such as Food Handler certification, acquired at applicant's own expense.
• ADA Statement: Counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers.

Pay Range: $19.5 per hour - $22.5 per hour Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
