Ultrasound Technologist- Ultrasound (Full-Time, Temporary, Varied)
Compensation range: $57.13 - $77.13 per hour, based on applicable experience.
About the role
Under the direction of the Manager, Radiology and the immediate supervision of the Department Lead, the Ultrasound Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The Ultrasound Technologist will assume responsibility and accountability for specific ultrasound equipment and areas. Additionally, the Ultrasound Technologist assists with facilitation of patient flow and performing basic patient care activities under the supervision of the department staff. This role supports and contributes to the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Ultrasound Department.

Responsibilities
- Perform imaging procedures, including OB/GYN, soft tissue/small part, and abdomen ultrasonography.
- Operate ultrasound equipment with independent judgment and initiative.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for specific ultrasound equipment and areas.
- Assist with patient flow and perform basic patient care activities under supervision.
- Support the service excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Ultrasound Department.
Requirements
- Competent in OB/GYN, soft tissue/small part, and abdomen ultrasonography as demonstrated by past work experience or clinical hours or completion of a training program.
- RDMS certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) (within 18 months of hire). (Grandfathering applies for employees classified as Ultrasound Techs prior to January 1, 2017.)
- Current approved CPR certification.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human structure and function, patient care, quality assurance, and specialized ultrasound techniques.
- Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving techniques.
- Able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in Ultrasound.
- Previous experience in an acute care environment.
- Competency in all ultrasound examinations, including interventional and vascular ultrasound.
- Completion of an Ultrasound training program.
- Certification in Nuchal Translucency through the NTQR.
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS.
