Ultrasound Technologist - Full Time

This role involves performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound using high-frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound procedures according to departmental format, completing exams in the allotted time.
• Handles daily clerical duties, including use of EPIC, PACS, Teletracking System, patient scheduling, and other computer systems.
• Performs portable ultrasound exams and assists physicians with ultrasound-guided interventional procedures and color-flow ultrasound.
• Prepares medical supplies, instruments, and equipment; prepares and positions patients for diagnostic procedures.
• Evaluates technical quality of images and obtains/processes images of pathogenic conditions according to standard procedures.
• Maintains records of ultrasounds, archives/de-archives data, and compiles/records data on patient charts.
• Calibrates, cleans, and performs routine maintenance on equipment; stocks and replenishes supplies.
• Provides technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
• Greets patients upon arrival using A.I.D.E.T. standards.
• Works scheduled shifts, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed to ensure quality patient care.
• Participates in on-call assignments as required by the Department of Radiology policy.
• Adheres to Employee ID policies, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
• Identifies and addresses the needs of diverse patient populations (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing/visual impairments).
• Adheres to Medical Center’s Organizational Competencies and performs daily/monthly QA tasks.
• Performs other duties/projects as assigned.
• Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes/pulls a minimum of 50 lbs., and stands for at least 6 hours per day.

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Registered Vascular Technologist Certification (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification (RDMS) or Sonography Certification (ARRT, S) or Registered Vascular Specialist Certification (CCI, RVS).
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification within 60 days of entering the position.
• Preferred:
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in ultrasound.

Pay

Minimum starting rate of $44.30 per hour. The posted rate is a reasonable good-faith estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting, in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act. The final offer may vary based on non-discriminatory factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding. Full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits. Certain roles may also qualify for shift differentials, performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions.
