About the role
Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician. Performs related functions according to department protocols. Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.

- Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or eligible candidate to sit for an ARDMS examination.
- The ARDMS defines 'candidate' as an applicant who has met the prerequisites required to sit for an ARDMS examination.
- If eligible candidate, successful completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS examinations required within 12 months of date of hire.
- Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Ultrasound Technologist position.
- Maintains required hours of continued medical education.
- Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
