Ultrasound Technologist

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality imaging studies for interpretation by the radiologist to aid in patient diagnosis.
• Ensure all services necessary within the organization and Department of Radiology to provide proper patient care while obtaining requested examinations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology.
• 2-3 years of practical experience preferred; successful departmental training.
• If hired before 01/01/2019: Registered A.R.D.M.S. with an accepted credential in OB, AB, or RVT required by July 1, 2019.
• If hired after 01/01/2019: A.R.D.M.S. with an accepted credential in OB, AB, or RVT required at hire.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting (50-75 lbs.), transferring, and assisting patients.
• Occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
• 80% standing or walking; 20% sitting.
• Expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken word.
• Full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
• Visual and aural acuity, finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
• Ability to withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.

Working Conditions

• Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated, or ventilated facility.
• No routine exposure to hazards, but occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise may occur.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.
• Critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility; ability to multi-task.
• Detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled.
• Sensitivity to customer needs and expectations.
• May be subject to irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $50.44 - $57.33 hourly. This range complies with New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements and does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Compensation is determined based on factors such as location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
