Shift Type: Night Shift

Description

Provides quality care to patients receiving US Scan, diagnostic, and interventional radiology procedures.
Communicates patient needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written correspondence.
Safeguards documentation completeness and accuracy regarding all aspects of patient care.
Operates imaging and specialty equipment appropriately.
Keeps informed about various medical device uses.
Ensures patients are properly prepared for procedures.
Verifies rooms are adequately stocked and periodically checks inventories of emergency supplies.
Supports patients during procedures.
Assists with patient and family education.
May support or assist in research and related activities.
Demonstrates adequate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
Provides more complex technical care necessary to meet identified patient needs.
Aids in performing and planning multiple diagnostic procedures in appropriate time sequence.
Functions as a resource for students and junior techs.
Performs related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound
• Minimum of two (2) years experience with one (1) year in US
• Must be RDMS or ARRT certified
• Advanced certification as a Registered Vascular Tech preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: 20-50 lbs (occasionally), 11-25 lbs (frequently), 01-10 lbs (constantly)
• Carrying: Up to 25 lbs
• Standing/Walking: Occasional to frequent
• Sitting: Occasionally
• Close Eye Work: Computers, typing, reading, writing

Environmental Factors

• Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and work tasks.
• Exposures include blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required.
• Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
