Ultrasound Technologist, 32 hours

Under general supervision of the Manager and Chief Technologist, and under the direction of a radiologist, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound and vascular ultrasound procedures on infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients on designated areas of the body as requested by a physician.

• Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound exams and procedures to produce images for the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders.
• Obtains and documents necessary patient information or history to perform appropriate exams or procedures.
• Performs all ultrasound exams with 100% accuracy.
• Tracks patients with 100% accuracy 98–100% of the time using the Radiology Information System (RIS) from patient arrival through exam completion and departure.
• Determines patient demographics and accession numbers with 100% accuracy using the PACS (Picture Archive Communication System) Ultrasound worklist.
• Ensures quality control of exams using PACS and evaluates images for diagnostic purposes, recognizing anatomy and pathology to determine the need for additional images.
• Accurately follows department standards and protocols.
• Maintains licensure and credentials as required by governing bodies.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and colleagues at all times.
• Contributes to a team approach to provide optimal quality care for patients.
• Maintains technical efficiency in the operation of ultrasound diagnostic equipment.
• Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles and Mission Statement into daily activities.
• Complies with all Lahey Clinic policies and behavioral expectations.

• Cleans and stocks rooms or notifies the Team Leader of needs.
• Assists in the training of ultrasound students.
• Assists support staff as needed.

Requirements

• Education: Two-year AMA-accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound or grandfathered into the profession with demonstrated competencies.
• Licensure, Certification, Registration: RDMS required. Must attain RVT or RVS certification within 18 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Proficient in the use of ultrasound equipment and competent in recognizing anatomy/pathology.
• Experience: 1–2 years in a large hospital setting preferred. New graduates will be trained.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $46.00 – $68.35 per hour. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, and other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices.
