Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations
  • Maintains workstations and equipment
  • Greets patients and confirms patient identification
  • Affords assistance in the ordering of supplies
  • Enhances professional growth
  • Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

  • Completion of a one- or two-year program or certified training course, followed by certification examination
  • Ultrasound training, involving new diagnostic equipment and techniques is received on the job
  • Registry with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required
  • Must be proficient in the English language
