Ultrasound Supervisor

About the role

Responsible for managing all clinical and non-clinical operations within the Ultrasound department, performing ultrasound imaging following established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Formulate departmental policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and maintain accreditation.
• Plan, organize, and direct staff activities, including staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and payroll management.
• Ensure quality diagnostic imaging, maintain supplies within budget, and oversee staff performance through evaluations and performance planning.
• Act as a patient advocate, investigate concerns, and ensure departmental compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, DHEC, and ACR.
• Perform ultrasound scans independently under radiologist supervision, apply technical judgment, and interpret findings.
• Provide mentorship to staff and students, promote service excellence, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an AMA-approved school.
• At least 3 years of ultrasound experience, including vascular sonography.
• ARDMS registration.
• CPR certification.
• Demonstrated strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
