About the role

Assists supervisor with staff education, competency and evaluations. Strives to provide optimal patient care and safety. Performs and assists with imaging procedures. Upholds the Standard of Practice of a registered technologist.

Responsibilities

• Provide optimal patient care and safety
• Perform and assist with imaging procedures
• Uphold the Standard of Practice of a registered technologist

Requirements

• Vocational Training
• Sonography certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• BLS from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• Within one (1) year of hire or transfer, obtain one of the following vascular certifications:
  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Sonography from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
• 1–2 years sonography experience, including vascular
• Knowledge of modern diagnostic sonography procedures and practices
• Ability to communicate procedures to patients
• Ability to approach and manage stress/traumatic situations in a calm manner
• Familiarity with imaging equipment and all other patient care equipment
• Ability to serve patients of all age groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Vascular certification at hire or transfer
• More than two years performing general, vascular and OB/GYN sonography

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervises 10 employees.
