About the role
University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) at Oregon State University is seeking to fill three full-time Custodian positions. UHDS recognizes the importance of learning both in and out of the classroom, and supports the concept of education as an individual as well as a community experience. Our primary focus is service to OSU students, providing safe, economical, on-campus living and dining options that are convenient and comfortable. Our department is an auxiliary enterprise funded solely by customers who use our services – we receive no State or tax dollars. Custodial services for UHDS provides a clean, healthy and presentable environment in all of its facilities. Custodians are committed to the overall success and satisfaction of UHDS students, customers, clients and guests and demonstrate this commitment through the work that they perform.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe resident hall for all guests
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, showers, classrooms and offices
- Sweep, mop and vacuum hard surfaces and carpets
- Clean multiple spaces within UHDS facilities
- Assist with deep cleaning of halls, including floor work
- Move and transport furniture and equipment
- Remove trash, stock paper products and chemical stock
Working Conditions & Schedule
These positions work in various environments including residence halls, office/work environments, apartment housing, or dining centers. These positions interact with residents and customers on a daily basis.
Typical work shift is Monday–Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, 5 days per week which may include weekends.
Salary
$18.06 – $22.84 per hour
Required Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications are not established for this classification; the appointing authority is responsible for recruitment and selection
- This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq
- Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months
