About the role
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN. The PCA will assist patients with activities of daily living, provide for personal care, comfort, and assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for an assigned group or patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- Provide personal care services
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients
- Follow hospital policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date
- Preferred: Current Certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or applicable work-related experience working as a nursing assistant
- Previous experience working as a nursing assistant
