Essential Functions
- Conduct an integrated academic foreign language class, teach students learning strategies
- Conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulative objects, props, and other learning aids
- Prepare and submit a course outline prior to the start of the class
- Absorb with the planning, instruction, and evaluation of tutoring and problem-solving activities
- Complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management
- Make recommendations on students' strength and needs
- Report student learning and behavioral issues to the appropriate staff personnel
- Absorb with the training and evaluation of Teacher Assistants
- The incumbent will be required to attend training and meetings
Additional Functions
- Transport students from one class location to another in a timely manner, ensuring proper supervision and safety of students
Prerequisite Qualifications
- Two or more years of teaching experience at the high school or post-secondary level
- Complete a background clearance check
- Ability to plan, organize, develop and conduct a comprehensive instructional tutoring program for students enrolled in the Upward Bound Program
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in the designated discipline
- Experience working with minority and disadvantaged students at the middle school, high school or post-secondary level
Salary Information
In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate/range for this position is $40.00-$50.00 (USD).
Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
