UB High School Foreign Language Instructor

Essential Functions

• Conduct an integrated academic foreign language class, teach students learning strategies
• Conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulative objects, props, and other learning aids
• Prepare and submit a course outline prior to the start of the class
• Absorb with the planning, instruction, and evaluation of tutoring and problem-solving activities
• Complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management
• Make recommendations on students' strength and needs
• Report student learning and behavioral issues to the appropriate staff personnel
• Absorb with the training and evaluation of Teacher Assistants
• The incumbent will be required to attend training and meetings

Additional Functions

• Transport students from one class location to another in a timely manner, ensuring proper supervision and safety of students

Prerequisite Qualifications

• Two or more years of teaching experience at the high school or post-secondary level
• Complete a background clearance check
• Ability to plan, organize, develop and conduct a comprehensive instructional tutoring program for students enrolled in the Upward Bound Program
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in the designated discipline
• Experience working with minority and disadvantaged students at the middle school, high school or post-secondary level

Salary Information

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the hourly rate/range for this position is $40.00-$50.00 (USD).
