TYSON FOODS -ALBERTVILLE: ALL SHIFTS Maintenance Generalists NEEDED

Starting pay varies by experience. An additional $2.00 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shift roles.

About the role

The Maintenance Generalist is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position supports production in a fresh food manufacturing environment while maintaining compliance with Tyson policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly
• Complete corrective and emergency maintenance work as assigned
• Perform equipment adjustments, part replacements, and repairs to maintain optimal performance
• Follow work orders and document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications
• Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment failures, safety hazards, or maintenance needs
• Work closely with Production and Sanitation to coordinate maintenance activities
• Support sanitation and startup processes following maintenance work
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
• Comply with all OSHA, USDA, food safety, and Tyson policies and procedures
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safe work practices at all times
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have 6 months of industrial maintenance experience within the last 12 months or verifiable schooling in a relevant industrial maintenance trade
• Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively
• Must perform other duties as tasked by administration
• Must be safe and observe all of Tyson’s policies and procedures
• Rehires are subject to a 181-day wait period from their last date of employment
• Candidates who have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson affiliates 3 or more times will not be eligible for rehire

Skills

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders
• Basic computer skills and ability to use CMMS systems
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Ability to work around moving machinery, elevated platforms, and energized equipment

Schedule

• All shifts available (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
• Rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
