Starting pay is $22.00 per hour plus an additional $2.00 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shift roles.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly
- Complete corrective and emergency maintenance work as assigned
- Perform equipment adjustments, part replacements, and repairs to maintain optimal performance
- Follow work orders and document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications
- Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment failures, safety hazards, or maintenance needs
- Work closely with Production and Sanitation to coordinate maintenance activities
- Support sanitation and startup processes following maintenance work
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition
- Comply with all OSHA, USDA, food safety, and Tyson policies and procedures
- Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safe work practices at all times
- Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must have 3 months of maintenance experience documented within the application and/or uploaded resume
- Must be able to understand labels, read recipes, follow instructions, and communicate effectively
- Must perform other duties as tasked by administration
- Must be safe and observe all of Tyson’s policies and procedures
- Rehires are subject to a 181-day wait period from their last date of employment
- Candidates who have worked for Tyson Foods or Tyson affiliates 3 or more times will not be eligible for rehire
Skills
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders
- Basic computer skills and ability to use CMMS systems
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Ability to work around moving machinery, elevated platforms, and energized equipment
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
