About the role

The Texas Comptroller is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team. This position will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and supporting budgetary processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports on financial trends and performance metrics.
• Support the development and maintenance of financial models and forecasting tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation and review of budgets and financial plans.
• Provide guidance and support to staff on financial matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in financial analysis or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal accounting standards and regulations.
• Experience with financial software such as SAP or Oracle.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and macros.
• Experience with financial modeling and budgeting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
