Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide staff development in the LVER classification.
- Mentor staff in the areas of LVER functions such as; Employer Outreach, Creating Job Opportunities, Quality Referrals and Employer events.
- Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of District Training, to include the development of presentation materials.
- Serves as an integral part of the training of new staff, and certifier for the 30-60, and 90-Day Competency Assessment forms.
- Conducts Employer outreaches to encourage the hiring of veterans.
- Cover review and analysis of Veteran qualifications to ensure they meet the requirements for employers' job opportunities.
- Plan and participate employer events. Make presentations to employers and other groups to promote veteran services.
- Trains LVERS on how to promote credentialing and licensing opportunities for Veterans.
- Review and report on the Workforce services provided to Veterans and employers, recommend strategies, solutions, or corrective action when required.
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff administering services to employers.
- May prepare quarterly reports.
- Enter and retrieve information to/from computer systems (WorkinTexas.com, VCMS, or other electronic databases, etc.).
General personal computer, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft office and internet research
- Afford assistance in the development of materials such as Workforce partner training, Workshops, etc.
- Afford assistance in the development of their proficiency with the Work in Texas System (WIT), and Veterans Case Management System (VCMS).
- Serve as a facilitator during District and Program Training Events.
Minimum Education and Experience
- A minimum of an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, human resources, marketing, social work or a related field.
- At least 1 year experience as an LVER with Veterans Employment Services.
- Must be a Veteran who served on active duty for a period of more than 180 days and was discharged/released with honorable, under honorable conditions, or general (under honorable conditions); OR a Veteran who was discharged/released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.
Preferred Experience and Qualification
- Two years as a LVER with Veterans Employment Services.
Additional Requirements
- A valid Texas Drivers License must be provided within 90 days of hire.
