TVC - District Coach (LVER) - (Veterans Services Representative IV)
About the role
Mentorship, training, and technical assistance to staff in the LVER classification. Monitor and mentor staff in the development of their roles through the on-boarding process, continued development phase, and their ongoing career with the Texas Veterans Commission. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development of training and recommend staff performance improvement as needed. Coordinate with the District Manager and Supervisor concerning areas of staff development, staff performance, and implementation of new roles and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide staff development in the LVER classification.
- Mentor staff in the areas of LVER functions such as; Employer Outreach, Creating Job Opportunities, Quality Referrals and Employer events.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of District Training, to include the development of presentation materials.
- Serve as an integral part of the training of new staff, and certifier for the 30-60, and 90-Day Competency Assessment forms.
- Conduct Employer outreach to encourage the hiring of veterans.
- Coordinate with Veteran Career Advisors and partner staff to provide job opportunities to specific Veterans.
- Review and analyze Veteran qualifications to ensure they meet the requirements for employer's job opportunities.
- Plan and participate employer events.
- Make presentations to employers and other groups to promote veteran services.
- Train LVERS on how to promote credentialing and licensing opportunities for Veterans.
- Review and report on the Workforce services provided to Veterans and employers, recommend strategies, solutions, or corrective action when required.
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff administering services to employers.
- May prepare quarterly reports.
- Enter and retrieve information to/from computer systems (WorkinTexas.com, VCMS, or other electronic databases, etc.).
- Afford assistance to staff in the development of materials such as Workforce partner training, Workshops, etc.
- Afford assistance to staff in the development of their proficiency with the Work in Texas System (WIT), and Veterans Case Management System (VCMS).
- Serve as a facilitator during District and Program Training Events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education: Associates degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, human resources, marketing, social work or a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year-by-year basis. College Transcripts are required and must be provided before an interview can be extended, it is preferred they be attached to the application.
Minimum Experience: At least 1 year experience as an LVER with Veterans Employment Services. Applicant must be of the same classification (LVER) as the position applying for with a high level of performance and proven accomplishments. NOTE: Applicants must be a Veteran who served on active duty for a period of more than 180 days and was discharged/released with honorable, under honorable conditions, or general (under honorable conditions); OR a Veteran who was discharged/released from active duty because of a service-connected disability. To demonstrate qualification, a DD form 214 (member 1 copy not acceptable), NA Form 13038, or a VA Summary Benefits Letter must be attached to the application or provided prior to an interview being extended.

Normal office work environment, mostly sedentary in nature. May involve walking; standing; remaining stationary for long periods of time; pulling and pushing; kneeling, stooping, and bending; and safely lifting and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds. Work involves extensive telephone usage and repetitive hand/wrist/finger motions while using the computer.

- A valid Texas Driver’s License must be provided within 90 days of hire.
