About the role

We are looking for an Open Pit Operations General Supervisor to join our growing team at the Turquoise Ridge operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe implementation and execution of the mine plan.
• Direct and manage all mine production activities including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment, and profitability.
• Develop and manage business improvement projects.
• Collaborate with geology and engineering in the development of achievable mine plans incorporating safe design criteria and optimal mining configurations.
• Collaborate with mine maintenance in creating PM schedules, prioritizing repair work, and implementing reliability improvements.
• Manage, coach, and lead teams engaged in mining to ensure production targets and schedules are met.
• Support operational objectives by minimizing risk and maximizing value through contract administration of contractors with a focus on value, cost reduction, and risk management.
• Ensure production outcomes result from safe work practices and in full cooperation with all other work groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience within the mining industry with five (5) years’ direct supervisory experience.
• Five (5) years Open Pit experience in a leadership capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, related field of study, or relevant experience preferred.
• Understanding of Open Pit safety and production targets.
• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes regular weekend coverage.

• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position.

About The Team

Nevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world.
