About the Role

The Turquoise Premier Model (TPM) elevates food and beverage hospitality and service to Yaamava’ Service and Brand Standards, primarily in premier venues. This role provides timely, accurate, and responsible cocktail service, as well as complimentary soft drink service to all Yaamava’ guests. The position delivers upscale food and beverage service in premier rooms, Y-Lounge, banquets, special events, and other assigned Casino areas.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, memorable service by engaging guests with enthusiasm and professionalism in adherence to Yaamava’ Service and Brand Standards.
  • Initiate personalized service through thoughtful questions and attention to nonverbal cues while maintaining a detail-oriented "Everything Matters" approach.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, promoting venue and Casino offerings through energetic, effective communication.
  • Provide prompt, courteous service using upselling techniques and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Maintain a high degree of alcohol expertise, including knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, cocktails, garnishes, and presentation standards.
  • Be knowledgeable of all pricing and menu items, including ingredients, allergens, preparation, and presentation.
  • Inform patrons of food and beverage specials, promotions, and events.
  • Perform public relations duties within premier room outlets and other specialty venues.
  • Participate in modeling presentations and promotional programs as required.
  • Collect accurate payment for each drink or round of drinks using the "cash and carry" alcohol service system.
  • Verify the legal age of guests who appear to be under 30.
  • Ensure compliance with responsible Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC), state, and gaming policies while serving alcohol.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of immediate workspace and adjacent areas.
  • Maintain a clean and proper setup of beverage trays, including napkins, order pads, pens, and tip cups.
  • Achieve a minimum score of 95% on service standards, food, liquor, wine, beer, alcohol awareness, and point-of-sale tests before working a solo shift.
  • Pass periodic quizzes and assessments and complete ongoing Forbes training(s) as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum six (6) months of related experience or training.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler’s card.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to manage cash transactions accurately and securely.
  • Ability to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues.

  • Ability to work under pressure, staying calm and efficient during busy periods.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled Casino & Resort setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently; may move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work involving sitting some of the time; constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading, and visual inspection of employees, visitors, or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and enter/exit a motor vehicle for travel to events, meetings, and properties.
  • Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke.
  • Must present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
