UNLV invites applications for a TTOUR RAP Officer within the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine.

About the Role

The Tribe, Tribal Organization, and Underserved Rural Communities Outreach (TRO) Officer provides management oversight to community providers delivering training under the Nevada Interprofessional Healthy Aging Network (NIHAN) Program. This role involves coordination with:

  • Internal University partners: Office of Sponsored Programs, Purchasing and Contracts, Accounts Payable, Travel and Expenses, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine Human Resources, Finance, and Department of Internal Medicine.
  • External partners: William Bee Ririe Rural Hospital and Clinics, University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Touro University Nevada, Mission Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, academic organizations, rural health partners, critical access hospitals, rural health clinics, long-term care facilities, senior centers, school districts, faith-based organizations, Tribal partners, Tribal Organizations, underserved rural community partners, and other local organizations supporting geriatric workforce development and community-based training.

The TRO Officer will identify, train, and evaluate urban and rural providers under the Tribe, Tribal Organization and Underserved Rural Communities (TTOUR) program, which offers geriatric training programs for healthcare providers and caregivers through clinical rotations with academic organizations. The role also includes managing the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), providing training to the nursing care workforce within long-term care facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Five (5) years of related experience.
  • One (1) year of supervisory and management experience.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of related managerial experience.
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience.
