Responsibilities
- Manage and review the preparation of Gift, Estate, and Trust tax returns.
- Oversee federal and state quarterly estimated tax payment preparation.
- Develop and manage tax planning strategies for trusts and individual income tax matters.
- Research and analyze complex estate, gift, and trust-related tax issues and provide technical recommendations.
- Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion.
- Review tax deliverables to ensure they are clear, concise, thorough, and of professional quality.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions for complex tax matters.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while demonstrating knowledge of client industries and financial needs.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and feedback to staff and interns.
- Conduct technical training and participate in professional development and mentorship programs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effective engagement management and exceptional client service.
- Remain dedicated to meeting and exceeding client expectations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 10+ years of recent experience in public accounting with a national, large regional, or technically proficient local accounting firm.
- CPA certification required.
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field.
- Extensive experience in Gift, Estate, and Trust tax compliance and planning.
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax regulations related to trusts, estates, gifts, and individual taxation.
- Proven ability to manage complex tax engagements and lead client relationships.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing tax professionals.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service focus.
- Advanced computer skills; experience with ProSystem Tax and Engagement is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
