Job Overview
The Truck Sales Representative is responsible for building strong relationships and driving sales of commercial trucks within an assigned territory. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, providing tailored vehicle solutions, and delivering exceptional service throughout the sales process.
Responsibilities and Duties/Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to grow truck sales
- Conduct regular in-person visits to customers within the assigned territory
- Proactively identify sales opportunities through cold calls, referrals, and territory research
- Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate truck specifications and financing options
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory, manufacturer programs, and industry trends
- Conduct sales presentations, vehicle demonstrations, and test drives
- Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, and deal documentation in compliance with company and OEM policies
- Collaborate with finance, parts, and service departments to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Utilize CRM system to manage sales pipeline, customer interactions, and follow-up activity
- Attend trade shows, customer events, and manufacturer training as needed
- Meet or exceed annual sales targets
Qualifications
- Education: Required - High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred - Associate or bachelor’s degree
- Experience: Preferred - At least 2 years of sales experience. Preferably in the heavy-duty truck or related industry
- Skills: Ability to manage a sales territory, strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and closing skills, proficiency with computers and different computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite
- Licenses: Required - Drivers License. Preferred - CDL
