Full-time position located in Oklahoma City, OK.
About the Role
Provides exceptional customer service while inspecting, repairing, and maintaining On-Highway trucks, trailers, and attachments. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing repairs on both Caterpillar and OEM trucks, as well as engine and related equipment repairs. The incumbent is expected to model company values, collaborate with internal and external resources, and participate in ongoing self-development.
Responsibilities
- Model, promote, reinforce, and reward consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools and processes.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair On-Highway trucks (both Cat and OEM).
- Perform engine and related equipment repairs on trucks and trailers.
- Disassemble, inspect, determine parts required, and reassemble equipment to factory specifications within TRGs.
- Adhere to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
- Provide quality control/assurance inspections of completed tasks, including road testing.
- Use computers and related software for diagnosing and reprogramming engines.
- Complete documentation for service reports, timecards, parts requisition, and returns.
- Maintain company equipment, tools, and vehicles in clean and working order.
- Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance, and service manuals/bulletins.
- Operate equipment and vehicles with all necessary licenses and certificates.
- Travel to job sites and retrieve parts as needed.
- Listen to and understand customer complaints, quote and explain repair costs, and schedule appointments.
- Order parts needed to complete repairs and file documentation for billing.
- Respond to customer needs after hours when required.
- Communicate job progress to supervisors and customers.
- Work overtime as required by workload and customer needs.
- Maintain a P Factor of 100% or greater and less than 0.5% rework for total sales.
- Project professionalism with internal and external customers, including personal appearance.
- Act as a mentor and coach to lower-level technicians.
- Complete all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training.
- Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; accreditation from a technical school or skilled trades program required.
- Minimum of three years of experience.
- CDL – Class A or B required.
- ASE Certifications preferred.
- Must meet HDSI requirements for Service Field Tech 1.
- Ability to complete HOLT's VBL Classes and model HOLT's VBL Culture.
- Ongoing safety training required.
- Must own and maintain the necessary tools to efficiently perform the job.
- Clean driving record.
Skills
- Knowledge of equipment, tools, and their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficiency with current computer software, hardware, and On-Highway Truck electronic systems diagnostic tooling.
- Ability to explain how various systems function on trucks and trailers.

Physical Requirements
- Significant time spent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Constant movement and use of hands, requiring good manual dexterity.
- Regular communication with customers, service managers, and co-workers.
- Reaction to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions.
- Visual inspection of work required.
- Ability to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
- Ability to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment.
- Frequent lifting and moving of materials and equipment up to 70 lbs.
- Ascending/descending ladders and equipment using both hands and feet.
Work Environment
- Frequent outdoor work around moving mechanical parts and exposure to weather extremes (inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity).
- Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.
- Exposure to hazardous conditions and contaminants.
- Work in enclosed vehicles or equipment.
- Work in extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
- Exposure to high noise levels.
- Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
Schedule
- Travel up to 40% with potential overnight travel.
- Overtime required as needed by workload and customer needs.
