Immediate opportunities for local Class A CDL Truck Drivers. Earn $24 per hour plus overtime after 40 hours, a $5000 retention bonus, and up to $5000 per referral through our driver referral bonus program.

About the role

You will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks with best-in-class specs designed for comfort, equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure safety for all.

Responsibilities

  • Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
  • Couple and uncouple trailers
  • Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulling from doors
  • Spot trailers for customers

Schedule

  • 5-day workweek with 2 consecutive days off
  • PM start time
  • Home daily

Pay

  • $24 per hour plus overtime after 40 hours

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL required
  • Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • English language proficiency (required by federal law for compliance with 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
  • Ability to work the required schedule and at the specified location
  • Complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive by the company. Associates must work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, accepting responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.

Qualifications

Physical and mental demands include:

  • Ability to see and hear; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting
  • Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
  • Legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area
