Yard Truck Driver - Class A - Penske Logistics
Immediate opportunities for local, home-daily Class A Yard Drivers. No touch freight.
About the role
You will drive late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks with best-in-class specs designed for comfort and safety, including inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure safety for all.
Responsibilities
- Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
- Couple and uncouple trailers
- Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulling from doors
Schedule
- 5-day work week with 2 consecutive days off
- AM and PM dispatch
- Home daily
Pay
- Earn $26.52 per hour
- Overtime after 40 hours
- Paid every Friday

Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL required
- Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years in the past 5 years
- 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- English language proficiency (required for compliance with federal law, 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
- Ability to work the required schedule and at the specified location
- Must complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive by the company. Associates must work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, accepting responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to see and hear, with specific vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, and sitting
- Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area
