About the role
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local routes within 100 miles of Indianapolis, IN. Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations. This is a solo, no-touch freight position delivering US Mail using dry van 53' trailers with rolling racks and carts. Home daily.
Ryder provides paid training on all required equipment. Tractor type is day cab.
Pay
Drivers earn $706 - $860 or more weekly, paid weekly. Hourly pay is $28.70 per hour plus an additional $6.16 H&W stipend. Hours per week: 25.
Schedule
Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Start times are 1:30 AM or 11:30 PM.

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
- For this account, USPS requires:
- A secondary Federal Level 2 background screen to allow access to premises and/or provide contractual services
- Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless legally exempt
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by the customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
