Ryder is hiring a local Class A CDL Truck Driver in Clarksville, TN, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career with daily home time.
About the Role
Deliver solo to IN, KY, OH, and MS on a local, home-daily route. This position involves no-touch freight (auto parts) using a day-cab tractor and 53’ dry van trailer. Strong backing skills are required. Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks (36 months or newer) with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations. Company-paid scale bypass is provided.
Pay
- Weekly guarantee: $1,280 or more
- Solo miles pay: $0.47 per mile (based on 2,500 miles per week)
- Solo stops pay: $12.00 per stop (5–15 stops per week)
- Drop and hook pay: $6.00 per drop/hook
- Sign-on bonus: $1,000 at 30 days and $1,000 at 90 days
- Shutdown bonus: $2,000 paid in 2 installments
- Safety bonus: $250 per quarter (if applicable)
Schedule
- Monday–Friday; some Saturdays or Tuesday–Saturday
- Start time: AM or PM based on bid system

Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test
- Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
- Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
- 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
- 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
- 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
- Maintain accurate records and logs
- Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by the customer
- Perform other duties as assigned
