About the role
This position is responsible for overseeing all operations in the trimming department.
Responsibilities
- Create schedule for trimming, machine trimming of flower or smalls, quality control, and packing of finished goods.
- Ensure Supervisors follow the workplan and communicate adjustments.
- Schedule with distribution for availability of trucks for delivery of product and materials.
- Manage labor associated with each job and oversee costs of labor and materials.
- Report back to the growing team for any quality issues.
- Ensure lab samples are prepared to be sent out with the Processing Inventory Team.
- Continuously work on improvements and efficiencies of processes and equipment for ergonomics, overall performance, and quality of product.
- Set climate specs for cannabis inventory.
- Set incentive pay goals for trimmers and report actual bonus pay.
- Approve schedules for Supervisors and Leads.
- Create quality specs for every job in the department.
- Cover for Supervisors, if needed.
- Oversee that Supervisors communicate from one shift to another.
- Manage accuracy of data and report any issues to the finance team.
- Maintain communication with Inventory to ensure there is enough product to work on.
- Ensure the product has a proper cure.
- Give Sales updates on product quality and offer a heads-up for any lower quality product.
- Create a safe work environment to avoid injuries to employees and report any issues to Director of Safety.
- Follow up with maintenance to resolve any issues with equipment.
- Report any issues with employees to the HR department.
- Create and update SOPs as needed.
- Rotate with other managers for weekend coverage.
- Communicate with other managers when they cover your area.
- Drive the department for continuous improvement.
- Cover two shifts on a rotation, as needed, between day and night to fully support staff.
Requirements
- Prior cannabis or management experience, mandatory.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs required.
- High school graduate or college/university education preferred.
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week.
- Must be able to write and communicate effectively with the entire team.
