Trimble GPS Field Technician I UT

Location: Salt Lake City, UT & surrounding areas

Pay: $25.00–$35.00/hour, depending on experience and job stability

About the role

We are seeking a GPS Grade Checker to ensure construction site grades and elevations meet project specifications. The role involves using GPS technology to provide accurate measurements and data for grading and excavation teams. Ideal candidates will have a strong construction background, experience with GPS equipment, and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret grading plans, blueprints, and elevations
• Use GPS equipment and field software (e.g., Trimble Earthworks or Topcon MAGNET) to provide accurate measurements
• Calculate grade, slope, and distance using strong math skills
• Operate GPS rovers, base stations, and data collectors
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions on uneven terrain
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required
• Collaborate with grading and excavation teams

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of experience in construction, grading, or surveying
• Basic knowledge of surveying concepts (benchmarks, control points, layout)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
