About the role
Segal McCambridge, a premier national litigation firm, is seeking an experienced California Trial Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned civil defense litigator with demonstrated first-chair trial experience who is looking to take on significant responsibility and expand their trial practice.
Responsibilities
- Take a lead role in trials and develop and execute case strategy from inception through verdict.
- Diverse trial opportunities, including handling and trying other types of civil defense matters in California.
- Enjoy a flexible work arrangement combining remote and in-office work.
- Work alongside experienced litigators while continuing to develop sophisticated trial, litigation, and client-management skills.

Requirements
- Active California Bar License and eligibility to practice in California.
- Demonstrated first-chair trial experience in civil litigation.
- Substantial California civil defense litigation experience, including responsibility for pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, court appearances, and case management.
- Ability to independently manage cases from initial assignment through resolution and trial.
- Warranty defense litigation experience highly desirable, particularly experience involving the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and related California warranty laws, but not required.
- Strong oral advocacy, writing, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
- Proven ability to develop and execute litigation and trial strategy.
- Excellent judgment, organization, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Strong client-service and relationship-management skills.
- Self-starter with an ownership mentality and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials throughout California.

Pay
