About the role
The Treatment Foster Care Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing emotional support and guidance to foster children and their families. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support and supervision to foster children and their families
- Facilitate communication between foster children, their families, and other relevant parties
- Offer emotional support and guidance to foster children and their families
- Participate in regular meetings with social workers and other professionals involved in the care of foster children
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care principles
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
