Treatment Foster Care Support Specialist

About the role

The Treatment Foster Care Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing emotional support and guidance to foster children and their families. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support and supervision to foster children and their families
• Facilitate communication between foster children, their families, and other relevant parties
• Offer emotional support and guidance to foster children and their families
• Participate in regular meetings with social workers and other professionals involved in the care of foster children

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with crisis intervention and conflict resolution
• Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care principles

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
