About the role
The Treatment Foster Care Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing emotional support and guidance to foster children and their families. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support to foster children and their families
- Assist in the coordination of services and resources for foster families
- Facilitate communication between foster families and social workers
- Offer crisis intervention and counseling services as needed
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of interactions and services provided
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with trauma-informed care and child development
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding foster care
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients and families
