About the role

The Treatment Coordinator serves as a key liaison between our doctors, patients, referring offices, and clinical teams. This role is responsible for helping patients understand their treatment recommendations, reviewing insurance benefits, discussing financial arrangements, coordinating treatment plans, and guiding patients through their surgical journey from consultation to procedure.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Treatment Coordination
    • Present treatment plans and surgical recommendations to patients.
    • Review insurance benefits and explain estimated patient financial responsibility.
    • Discuss payment options and financial arrangements.
    • Answer patient questions regarding treatment, scheduling, and preparation.
    • Ensure patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their experience.
    • Follow up with patients after consultations to assist with scheduling and treatment decisions.
  • Referral Relationship Management
    • Communicate with referring dental offices regarding patient treatment plans and scheduling.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with referring offices.
    • Ensure required records, referrals, imaging, and documentation are received and processed timely.
    • Aid in creating a seamless experience between AZOMS and referring providers.
  • Scheduling & Administrative Support
    • Cook up surgical scheduling and pre-operative requirements.
    • Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients professionally and efficiently.
    • Maintain accurate patient documentation and records.
    • Collaborate with administrative and clinical teams to ensure continuity of care.
    • Assist with office operations as needed.
  • Performance & Accountability
    • Track and maintain individual case acceptance/conversion rates.
    • Participate in performance discussions and goal-setting initiatives.
    • Follow established workflows and best practices.
    • Demonstrate accountability for follow-up, communication, and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Experience
    • Dental, oral surgery, orthodontic, periodontal, or medical office experience preferred.
    • Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing financial arrangements preferred.
    • Insurance verification and benefit coordination experience preferred.
    • Customer service and patient communication experience required.
