Traveling Field Technician

Candidates local to Hudson, OH or within 1 hour of a major airport living in the Western United States.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance as required.
  • Test and verify the functionality of installed equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Provide exceptional customer support, making sure all documentation is thorough and accurate, and understanding that your efforts are essential to the safety of those who depend on these systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical experts in a privately owned company, where faster decision-making and fewer bureaucratic hurdles allow you to push the boundaries of security technology and implement solutions without delay.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and diagnose technical problems effectively.
  • Set up and troubleshoot basic network connections, including assigning IP addresses and subnets.

Requirements

  • A two-year technical degree or apprenticeship program or equivalent in a technical or military field.
  • Three to five years of proven experience in electrical / electronic and mechanical fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Willingness to travel for the vast majority of work.
  • Ability to fly on commercial airlines.
  • Ability to follow directions and drive safely.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Noise levels can be loud, and environmental conditions may include heat, cold, rain, snow, or high humidity. In prison settings, employees must adhere to the specific rules and regulations of the facility. This position also involves routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Duties may include working at a desk, using a computer, and communicating via phone or in person. Occasional physical activities include standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and using hand tools or small power tools. Employees must occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 70 pounds. The physical demands of this role include the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle tools or equipment, reach with arms, climb, and hear or speak as needed.
