Traveling Field Service Technician

About the role

Cypress Creek is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Operations and Maintenance team in the North and South Atlantic regions. This role plays an important part in supporting one of the nation's largest renewable energy portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting on-site routine maintenance of solar photovoltaic facilities, including DC and AC testing
  • Maintaining the vehicle, tools, meters, and truck stock
  • Creating service reports and maintaining spare parts inventory
  • Identifying safety hazards and taking appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards
  • Responding on-call for emergencies as directed by your supervisor

Requirements

  • NABCEP Certified Installation Professional
  • 3-4+ years of experience in PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications and monitoring
  • Experience with SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems
  • Skilled in using testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, Ground Fault Detection
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design/construction practices
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Ability to take direction and complete tasks with minimal oversight
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • OSHA 10 HR Training
  • NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in workplace and Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • UAS Certification
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 90%+

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Work is to be performed in the field and in the office
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Understanding of and adherence to safety and quality procedures and practices
  • Positive project team attitude
  • Able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis

Schedule

This is a full-time travel position supporting our North and Central Atlantic regions. The ideal candidate will be based in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York or Massachusetts and available for continuous travel throughout the region.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
