About the role
Midwest Concrete Constructors (MCC) is seeking Traveling Concrete Superintendents. You’ll manage concrete construction and related field operations from day one, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and assist in determining construction equipment requirements, providing necessary equipment and releasing it when not needed.
- Direct and supervise carpenters, cement finishers, iron workers, and laborers in their duties.
- Inform supervisors of any construction schedule changes.
- Review and assist in approving all requisitions and significant reports and documents.
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and issues affecting costs or schedules.
- Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
- Maintain a daily diary recording significant project facts, events, conditions, and commitments.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s safety program in all phases and areas of the project.
- Act with integrity, supporting the company, its values, and employees, focusing on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
- Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned.
Requirements
- 5-25+ years of experience as a concrete superintendent on projects at least 100k sq ft; flatwork preferred.
- Possession and maintenance of a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as standing/walking for long periods, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- Preferred certifications: Rigging, OSHA 10-hour, aerial lifts, variable reach.
- Willingness to travel throughout the United States.
Skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Experience managing construction projects.
- Knowledge of concrete construction techniques and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
