About the role
As a Traveling Concrete Superintendent, you will manage concrete construction and administrative field operations from day one, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adequate manpower is provided to meet construction schedules
- Analyze and assist the general superintendent in determining construction equipment requirements; provide and release equipment as needed for efficient manpower utilization
- Determine job requirement quantities for each phase of work
- Direct and supervise carpenters, cement finishers, iron workers, and laborers
- Inform all supervisors promptly of any construction schedule changes
- Review and assist the project manager in approving requisitions and other significant reports and documents
- Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts
- Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress
- Maintain a daily diary to record project facts, events, conditions, visitors, contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals
- Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas
- Familiarize yourself with and strictly adhere to all company policies, ensuring employees do the same
- Act with integrity to support the company, its values, and employees while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- 5–25+ years of experience as a working concrete superintendent on projects of at least 100,000 sq ft (flatwork preferred)
- Preferred certifications: Rigging, OSHA 10-hour, aerial lifts, and variable reach
- Willingness to travel throughout the United States
- Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing or walking for long periods (occasionally on uneven terrain), bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent
