About the role

As a Traveling Concrete Superintendent, you will manage concrete construction and administrative field operations from day one, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adequate manpower is provided to meet construction schedules
  • Analyze and assist the general superintendent in determining construction equipment requirements; provide and release equipment as needed for efficient manpower utilization
  • Determine job requirement quantities for each phase of work
  • Direct and supervise carpenters, cement finishers, iron workers, and laborers
  • Inform all supervisors promptly of any construction schedule changes
  • Review and assist the project manager in approving requisitions and other significant reports and documents
  • Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule impacts
  • Cooperate with the general contractor and representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress
  • Maintain a daily diary to record project facts, events, conditions, visitors, contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals
  • Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas
  • Familiarize yourself with and strictly adhere to all company policies, ensuring employees do the same
  • Act with integrity to support the company, its values, and employees while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • 5–25+ years of experience as a working concrete superintendent on projects of at least 100,000 sq ft (flatwork preferred)
  • Preferred certifications: Rigging, OSHA 10-hour, aerial lifts, and variable reach
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including standing or walking for long periods (occasionally on uneven terrain), bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent
