Travel Sterile Processing Tech - $1,235 per week

About the role

Travel Sterile Processing Technician position at a large hospital (500+ beds) in Rochester, NY. Assignment duration is 10–11 weeks, 40 hours per week on evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, high-level disinfection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments/trays
• Prepare and sterilize instruments for 35 OR suites, AFC units, and clinics
• Operate steam sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, heat sealers, Steris units, cart washers, and related equipment
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, proper assembly, function, and sterility
• Maintain sterilizer documentation, biological testing, load sheets, and QA records
• Handle infectious waste/linen and maintain infection-control standards
• Manage surgical supplies, inventory, stock levels, and procedure carts
• Identify equipment requiring repair and maintain equipment-use/service records
• Track instruments/trays using Getinge T-DOC barcode system

Requirements

• 3 years Sterile Processing Technician experience
• Large hospital experience (at least 500 beds)
• Minimum 6 months travel experience
• HSPA or CBSPD certification
• BLS (American Heart Association only)
• Two professional references (one from the last two assignments)

Preferred qualifications

• Level I Trauma Center experience
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)
• Orthopedic tray experience

Skills

• Sterile Processing Certification — Required, 3 years experience
• Certified Sterile Processing Experience — Required, 2 years experience
• BLS (American Heart Association only) — Required
• Large Hospital Experience (500+ beds) — Required
• Two Professional References (one from last two assignments) — Required
• Travel SPT Experience — Required, 6 months minimum

Schedule

Evening shift, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week). Weekends, holidays, and on-call/callback per unit needs.

Pay

Pay package based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Large hospital with 35 OR suites, AFC units, and clinics. Uses Getinge T-DOC barcode system for instrument tracking.
