Travel Step Down Unit RN - $2,285 per week

Job Summary

A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit located in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 18-bed adult oncology and trauma progressive care unit, with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care. The position requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.

Unit Information

• PCU Oncology (5 North), adult oncology and trauma patients, 18 beds
• Patient Population: Oncology, trauma, and adult patients
• Shifts and Hours: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, every other weekend, with self-scheduling
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Float Requirements: Float to other medical/surgical and PCU units; floating basis at same level of care
• Orientation: Two days of unit orientation
• Support Staff: Nursing assistants, charge nurse, PT/OT, RN case manager, social worker, educator, dietitian
• Patient Experience Focus: Hourly rounding, bedside shift report, compassionate care for diverse patient population

Required Qualifications

• Valid nursing license
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
• Two years of relevant clinical experience; oncology preferred but not required; strong PCU experience acceptable
• ONS/ONCC certification current or preferred (not mandatory)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Driver's license required for travel documentation

Drips & Skills

• Experience titrating insulin and Cardizem drips
• Familiarity with chemotherapy, Heparin, Protonix, and other titratable medications
