Job Summary
This role involves providing specialized care to patients with intermediate medical needs, managing complex cases such as chest pain, arrhythmias, and post-procedure care. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a dedicated healthcare team.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with shifts starting at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Self-scheduling is permitted, provided staffing needs are met. Staff may request up to 4 days off per month.
Required Qualifications
- Certifications in ACLS and BLS;
- NIHSS certification;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a step-down or telemetry unit;
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system;
- Able to interpret telemetry strips and titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, and Heparin.
Additional Information
- The unit has a patient census accommodating 30 beds, including 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms.
- The team operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio around 1:4 to 1:6, depending on staffing.
- Equipment includes Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors, high-flow respiratory devices, and Bipap ventilators managed by respiratory therapy.
- There are in-house hospitalists, intensivists, IV team, pharmacy, and RT available 24/7.
- Orientation includes a two-day on-boarding process with a preceptor.
