Travel Step Down Unit RN - $2,245 per week

About the role

Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit in a hospital setting, primarily working night shifts. The role involves caring for patients with conditions such as heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, and stroke. It requires ability to interpret telemetry strips, titrate drips, and participate in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care. The assignment is in Council Bluffs, Iowa, with a start date of 10/12/2026 and duration of 18 weeks.

Schedule

Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/28/2026 to 02/01/2027.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a similar unit

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with telemetry interpretation
• Titration of drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin
• Previous work in a fast-paced cardiac or stroke unit

Additional Information

• Fast-paced step‑down department with high admit and discharge rates
• Expected to float to ICU when appropriate
• Experience with telemetry and telemonitor reading required
• Adhere to patient care policies, including prohibition of artificial nails and compliance with fingernail policies
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must not have been employed (full‑time, part‑time, or PRN) at any facility associated with the organization in the past year
• RTO requests must be specified upfront; additional RTOs will not be approved

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
