About the role

The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified Step Down Unit registered nurse (RN) for a 12-hour shift position in Kearney, Nebraska. The role involves caring for adult patients with various diagnoses including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular issues, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure. The RN will work as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients with diagnoses such as cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular issues, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure
  • Titration of titratable and set rate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
  • Interpretation of telemetry strips
  • Troubleshooting high-flow oxygen devices
  • Focus on responsiveness, communication, and patient experience scores
  • Float rotation may be required to Medical-Surgical or ICU units, accommodating acuity levels as needed

Requirements

  • RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Must be within 50 miles of the facility; driver’s license required at submittal to verify location

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts: 0630-1830 or 1830-0630
  • Days and nights available
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Alternating weekends
  • At least 2 holidays within the contract period
  • Scheduled orientation day and skills exam with a 90% passing threshold required

Dress Code

Navy Blue scrubs.
