Travel Step Down Unit RN - $2,190 per week

About the role

Step Down Unit RN position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care to cardiac and post-operative patients, with responsibilities encompassing patient assessments, medication administration, and documentation. The position is scheduled for day shifts, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic inpatient setting dedicated to patient stability and recovery.

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts, weekends as scheduled
• Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 09/21/2026 to 12/21/2026

Required Qualifications

• Valid license to submit
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Two or more years of experience in step down or progressive care unit
• Comfortable with cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips, including titratable infusions such as cardizem, amio, nitro, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, angiomax

Responsibilities

• Performing activities of daily living, vital signs, bathing, toileting, feeding, repositioning, answering call lights, blood sugar monitoring
• Managing cardiac patients with diagnoses including post pneumonia, post cath lab, seizures, CIWA protocols for alcohol withdrawal, pacemakers
• Troubleshooting respiratory equipment such as vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow devices
• Reading and interpreting telemetry strips, printing strips, measuring rhythms
• Performing assessments, vitals, IV management, and patient care activities

Unit Information

• Charge nurse on each shift with designated patient assignments
• Nurse aides/patient care techs available on unit
• RT available 24/7 for respiratory management
• Telemetry and monitor tech available 24/7
• Float flexibility within inpatient units
• Orientation: Two days of general orientation plus one day with a preceptor
• Scrubs are navy blue
