Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in adult patients across medical and surgical units
  • Provide bedside dysphagia management, voice and resonance therapy, and cognitive rehabilitation as appropriate; adapt therapy to medically complex and acutely ill patients
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and support safe patient progress and discharge planning
  • Document evaluation findings, treatment goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies
  • Educate patients and families on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and care plans; participate in rounds and care conferences as required
  • Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and patient privacy regulations; contribute to quality improvement and performance improvement activities as applicable

Requirements

  • Georgia licensure for Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP credential
  • American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
  • Minimum 15–18 months of recent acute care/medical-surgical experience in the specialty
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient acute care environment and across multiple units
  • MBS/FEES proficiency is a plus but not required
  • Availability to begin on 08/09/2026 and commit to a 13-week assignment

About the role

This 13-week travel temporary assignment begins on 08/09/2026, with a weekly pay range of $2,164 to $2,298 and guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shifts are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Work setting is an acute care environment supporting a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses.
