Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in adult patients across medical and surgical units
- Provide bedside dysphagia management, voice and resonance therapy, and cognitive rehabilitation as appropriate; adapt therapy to medically complex and acutely ill patients
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and support safe patient progress and discharge planning
- Document evaluation findings, treatment goals, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies
- Educate patients and families on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and care plans; participate in rounds and care conferences as required
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and patient privacy regulations; contribute to quality improvement and performance improvement activities as applicable
Requirements
- Georgia licensure for Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP credential
- American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 15–18 months of recent acute care/medical-surgical experience in the specialty
- Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient acute care environment and across multiple units
- MBS/FEES proficiency is a plus but not required
- Availability to begin on 08/09/2026 and commit to a 13-week assignment
About the role
This 13-week travel temporary assignment begins on 08/09/2026, with a weekly pay range of $2,164 to $2,298 and guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shifts are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Work setting is an acute care environment supporting a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses.
