Travel Speech Language Pathologist Acute Care Job

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology assessments and periodic re-assessments for residents to identify communication and swallowing needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals addressing speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing concerns
• Provide direct therapy for residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia disorders
• Screen for dysphagia, evaluate swallow function, and recommend safe dietary modifications and compensatory strategies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, plan admissions and discharges, and support transition of care
• Document progress and maintain timely, accurate records in the electronic medical record; communicate with families and caregivers about strategies and progress

Requirements

• Active licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the United States or eligibility to practice per state requirements
• Ability to work in a long-term care/nursing home environment
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Willingness to work a 5x8 day shift (08:00–16:30) and commit to a 13-week travel assignment
• Compliance with facility policies and patient safety guidelines
