About the role

Assesses and treats patients from infant through geriatric with a variety of speech, language and/or oral pharyngeal sensory-motor incompetencies according to standards of practice of profession, regulatory agencies, and institution. Assists in managing daily operation of speech-language pathology services. Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure maximum level of care to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients with speech, language, and/or oral pharyngeal sensory-motor issues across all age groups
• Manage daily operations of speech-language pathology services
• Collaborate with other disciplines to provide optimal patient care

Skills

• Proficiency in using audiometers, formal tests, tape recorders, and dictaphones
• Experience with patient-related software programs
• Basic computer skills:
  • Turn a personal computer on and off
  • Recognize the four major parts of a computer
  • Identify and explain the use of the four parts of a standard keyboard
  • Use a mouse
  • Open and close programs using Windows 95
  • Recognize and understand the operator panel of a printer

Requirements

• Kentucky State License (mandatory)
• BLS Certification (required after hire)
• ASHA Certification (preferred)
• Experience with audiometers, formal tests, and patient software (preferred)
