Responsibilities
- Effectively screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders and develop an appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
- Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, documenting in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services in relation to patient evaluation; make referrals based on outcomes.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
- Provide a comprehensive discharge summary of services per regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy.
- Accurately record treatment minutes for services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
- Participate in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
- Obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
- Supervise and support CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Adhere to ASHA and State-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Requirements
- Active ASHA and State licensure.
- 1 year of SLP experience (REQUIRED).
- New graduates acceptable if they have Level II experience (not just Level I observation).
- LTC or Rehab experience (Required).
- Missouri State License (Required).
- CCC certified SLP (Required).
- 3 years of experience holding active CCS (preferred).
- Must submit one reference at the time of submission.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts.
- No weekends unless a holiday falls within Monday–Friday; hours can then be made up on the weekend.
- No on-call shifts.
Pay
Rate: $88 per hour. Pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
