About the role
The position involves providing specialized instruction to students with severe disabilities within a school setting. The teacher will collaborate with other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Teach academic subjects tailored to the needs of students with severe disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with other professionals, including therapists and social workers, to provide comprehensive support to students.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with parents and guardians about student progress and needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field.
- State special education teaching certification.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Knowledge of special education methodologies and techniques.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
